Key Curations Origin

Key Curations Origin

Key Curations is an online art purveyor. Curated by collectors. For collectors.

My name is Hunter Key and I am the sole proprietor of this business.

Key Curations was originally formed as Key Glass Gallery in January 2021. This business idea came about when I decided to quit my job at a local smoke shop in order to pursue selling art on my own.

The city I live in, Memphis, is known for its art and cultural history. Though this city is rampant with delicious eateries, breweries and bars, music venues, and even a handful of art galleries, the glass art scene is one which is not prominent at all. I intended to bring something different to the city: an online glass store that hosts events and shows, with a storefront lingering somewhere in my future.

Fast forward two years, three shows, and several hundred pieces of art taken home later, and I come to the realization that there is no art scene here for a reason. The show attendace was minimal and most of the sales I have made were out of state. The crime in our city is too prevalent for me to have any desire to open a storefront at this point. Call me a fool for ignoring the obvious, but you can't hate me for trying.

This past December of 2023, I decided to take a different approach to the business and that a re-brand was in order. This is where the name Key Curations arose. It better describes what I do. Each item on my site is hand-picked by me. If I wouldn't personally collect it or pay the price, you won't find it. I also enjoy and have carried other art forms in the past, and hope to continue to do so. Removing "Glass Gallery" from the name and adding "Curations" allows me to feel better about selling other types of products as well as operating online rather than at a storefront.

Purchasing anything from Key Curations is guaranteed to be a personal and curated experience, as it should be.

I look forward to serving you this year and providing beautiful new art for you to add to your collection!
